During the first week of the course you were asked to complete the Initiation MCQ. The aim of this MCQ was to see how each of you approached and answered the following:
Direct questions no tricks
Distractors that were true of themselves but not following on from the question
Questions where distractors are incorrect
Questions where there was not only one right answer, but usually two and the you had to pick the one that was most correct (very prevalent in exam)
Questions that tested absolute details
The overall mark was in the 45% range, but this was not a true indication as some people did the test and almost scored poorly on purpose. One person sat in 5 times. This screws up the averages, so I'm not fussed by those scores. When I look at your individual scores and analyse where you are compared to other groups, you are above the average group mark. We don't give out the answers to the initiation exam, however above is a 17 minute video that goes over the answers, for questions, where the pass rate was about 30% or less. The reason you don't get these answers is that you will meet these questions again during the subsections studied each week and will meet a similar exam during other practice exams which allow us to monitor your progress. Overall well done! Click on the Video above and watch the explanation.
