READ
You should have T is for Tox from the last module, to keep working through, so we've only included two articles here:
1. A review of the management of hydrofluoric acid burns.
2. A link (click here) to an article written by Geoff Isbister summarising marine envenomation syndromes.
The second roadblock will also be up in the next day or two for you to attempt, so there's plenty to be getting on with!

solve.
Last time we discussed half of toxicology - the options for decontamination and enhanced elimination. The other part of toxicology that is specifically useful to know is the use of antidotes. If you can write something sensible about decontamination and enhanced elimination, write something about good supportive care and then supplement all that with specific information about antidotes you can go a long way to scoring a high mark on most toxicology questions.
So this time, make a list of your top poisons to know about, and the antidote details for each. For reference, our list has 16 poisons on it (we do not include opiates, as everyone sitting the exam should be able to say something sensible about these anyway!). You can see our list by clicking below. But, before you look make up your own - it's a much more useful learning exercise than simply reading ours. Any comments or additions via the VSG are most welcome as always!

OK, we are getting to the business end of your preparation. There's no formal homework this time, but if you're of a mind writing 5 more MCQs on toxicology subjects is likely to benefit you. Otherwise, there is a roadblock for you to do. Enjoy!
